#TeenCraftSaturdays @ OPL
First Saturdays, 10/4, 11/1
12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (or until supplies run out)
You know you have to stop by the library anyway because that BIG project is due Monday, so why not take a study break and create something fun? All projects make use of "upcycling", so they're both fun and environmentally friendly. These programs are drop-in only, so be sure to get here early! When supplies run out, they run out forever.
10/4: Franken-Toy Workshop: Create creepy new toys from the pieces of old ones. Curious to see how Teddy Bear would look with a fifth limb, second tail and Barbie head? This is your chance to find out! We'll post photos of our favorite creations on our Teen Blog and the library's Facebook page.
11/1: Book Hedgehogs: Back by popular demand, these adorably literary creations look great on a bookshelf (or anywhere, really). And they make the perfect gift for that bookworm on your holiday shopping list. Trust us: These guys are so cute all your friends will want one - even the ones that don't really like to read.
Bored? Play Games! Saturdays
Third Saturdays, 10/18, 11/15
12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
It may sound counterproductive, but board games (or card games or puzzles, for that matter) are a surefire cure for the dreaded affliction of ultimate boredom. The Teen Staff understands this. So drop in and grab a game or puzzle to play.
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Back by popular demand: a Lego® Program for teens! While the Youth Department's Lego® Club is between sessions, we're giving our teens a one-time-only opportunity to create something cool. Prizes awarded for Height, Originality, and Functionality (your creation does something). Creations will be judged by on-duty library staff. Register beginning 9/1/14.
Halloween Spooktacular Film Festival
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Looking to scare up something fun to do? We'll be showing movies all day long the Saturday before Halloween, so drop in and watch a while - if you dare. Be sure to stick around. There will be all kinds of treats in store throughout the day! Movies will be PG and PG-13.
