Who Are Friends of the Library?
Friends of the Library are dedicated volunteers and advocates for libraries who raise much needed funds, sponsor programs, special events, and host popular used book sales. The Oxford Public Library Friends is a non-profit organization formed to promote the interests and welfare of the Oxford Public Library as a cultural and educational asset to the residents of Oxford and the surrounding area.
Why Should I Join?
You should join because you care about the Oxford Public Library and because you want to. Joining the OPL Friends Group is a rewarding way to give back to your library and to your community. Membership dues provide voting privileges on changes to the bylaws, election of officers, and group expenditures.
How Do I Join?
Joining the Friends of the Oxford Public Library is very easy and even more rewarding. Simply complete the Application Form and affix your annual membership dues. Completing the application form only takes a few seconds of your time, but how much time you give back to your Library is limitless. Some members give hours of time by volunteering behind the scenes, or by assisting with Friends’ sponsored events.
Others may only have time to help out at a book sale or to write a letter to legislators supporting the Library. That is okay. There are opportunities for everyone to participate as little, or as much as they want.
2013 Dues Schedule
Individual $10; Family $20; Business / Vendor $50
